National Independent Nursery Furniture Retailers Association
In
1973 a group of independent juvenile retailers, realizing the need for
an outlet in which they could share ideas with each other, formed the
National Independent Nursery Furniture Retailers Association (NINFRA).
Their vision and foresight grew into a dynamic industry that allowed the
family of independent retailers to benefit greatly from one another's
knowledge and expertise. Today, the need for a well-established, cooperative
business organization like NINFRA is at an all time high. Considering
today's economic unrest and uncertainty, it is more important than ever
to have experienced minds as well as buying power and general support
of peers to help through the difficult journey we call retail sales. Most
importantly, NINFRA is a source of strength for its members. The organization
is strictly run by the membership and managed by a Board of twelve.
The members of NINFRA soon realized the invaluable partnerships that developed
between vendors and retailers. Business relations and friendships emerged
between the two eventually leading to the formation of the annual Business
Building Conference (BBC). This event is held each year at a different
resort destination allowing vendors and retailers to come together in
a casual, relaxed environment to share trade secrets. Because the meeting
is restricted to NINFRA members exclusively, the invited manufacturers
are allowed to meet one on one with independents. This intimate, three
day setting sets the stage to solve problems and overcome obstacles that
face both retailers and manufacturers. The experience is one of education
and growth for all parties involved.
